My combined love and passion for the medical field and sports led me to major in Kinesiology in college while playing tennis on the varsity tennis team. I have had a diverse set of job experiences in the field: I have worked as a certified nursing assistant (CNA), a medical assistant and a research assistant. After completing my undergraduate studies, I received a Fulbright scholarship to live and work in Indonesia for a year. During my stay I taught English in a public high school, hosted cultural events at local companies and implemented health and fitness programs for Indonesian students.
Although I learned a great deal and had an enjoyable experience abroad, I am excited to be back stateside working in the medical field before I start my graduate studies in the next couple of years. |

I am excited to be a part of the team here at IASM! Growing up I was heavily involved in sports and was a dancer throughout my life. An injury introduced me to sports medicine, which in turn lead me to take a certification program in Pilates/sports medicine. My continued interest in body mechanics has also awakened an interest to possibly continue my education in this field. My goal is to help you! |

Through numerous volunteer and professional experiences, I developed a fondness for the medical profession early in my career. In working for a multi-physician orthopedic group while studying Business and Medical Administration at the University of Montana, I was impressed by the dynamic energy I saw in patients.
It's great seeing orthopedic and sports medicine patients progress back to their normal activities following an injury or surgery. I'm thrilled to join the IASM team in working to ensure our patients benefit from our office's broad range of services; from Dr. Halbrecht's strong expertise and excellent care, to our ancillary MRI, knowledgeable staff and more, I'm dedicated in helping our patients get well-and get back out there! |

I've recently returned to the Bay Area after 12 years in Scottsdale, AZ, and glad to escape the heat! I have 5 years of experience in sports medicine/ orthopedic surgery, including working with teams like the Phoenix Suns, ASU Sun Devils and Arizona Rattlers. I plan on attending PA school to pursue a surgical career in orthopedics very soon. |

Sean attended Pacific Union College in Angwin, California, where he received his Bachelor's degree in Biology in 2005. He then completed his Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland in 2008. His past experience includes eight years working as a Radiologic Technologist in Computed Tomography.
As Dr. Halbrecht's Physician Assistant, Sean continues the exceptional care given to our patients as he assists Dr. Halbrecht in surgery, provides pre- and post- operative treatment to patients, and is a valuable resource to patients regarding their medical questions and concerns. "It is an honor to be part of the family here at IASM, and to work with Dr. Halbrecht and his staff. I am here to provide you with only the best quality care you hope for and deserve in both a clinic and surgical setting." |

I moved to San Francisco after graduating from Wesleyan University in Connecticut, and I could not be happier to be here at I.A.S.M. I have known for years that medicine and travel drive me. Working in several hospitals and family clinics in Northern California, teaching health workshops in Connecticut, and volunteering with the Global Medical Brigades in Honduras, has shown me that aiding others through the practice of medicine is a gift, and I hope to be able to contribute.
Years from now, I hope to be traveling as an N.P. or M.D. to aid and teach. Until then, I am happy to work with such an amazing team, and wonderful patients, in one of the most beautiful of cities. |
