New techniques allow repair of the rotator cuff tendons using arthroscopic methods. Rather than making a large incision in the shoulder and damaging normal muscle, arthroscopic techniques allow repair of the rotator cuff through tiny incisions. Dr Halbrecht has invented a new patented device that facilitates arthroscopic repair, called the Versalok. This device acts to lock the rotator cuff down to bone without the need for tying cumbersome knots, resulting in shorter operating room time and less anesthesia. Arthroscopic repair also allows more rapid rehabilitation and less post operative pain.
